While any good color inkjet printer is up to the task of producing acceptable quality models, I would highly recommend a color  laser  to really bring out the vivid colors of the model designs (which is why I get all my copies done at the local Staples outlet). As a matter of fact, you may not even have to own a printer as the files could be saved and printed out at a quality local printing service!

I use 110 lb. cardstock which is available at many office supply outlets, etc. You can use lighter cardstock, but I would highly recommend the 110 lb. thickness.
